ORIGINAL IP · IN ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT
A game prototype inspired by mud crabbing around Darwin Harbour and the Northern Territory—combining boating, changing conditions, local fishing knowledge and a working crabbing economy.
CrazyCrab is an evolving simulation and management game. The player travels through Top End waterways, deploys pots, chooses bait, returns after a soak period and makes decisions about the catch. The wider design connects those actions to tides, weather, navigation, boat condition, compliance and business progression.
Darwin-inspired waterways, tide movement, weather, wind and changing light give each trip a sense of place.
Pot placement, bait choices, soak time, legal catch decisions and unwanted species support the core loop.
Catch income, repairs, equipment, boats and location milestones create longer-term decisions.
Development explores web, Windows and Android builds with controls adapted for keyboard, controller and touch.
The prototype demonstrates how a recognisable local activity can become an accessible game system. It also provides a platform for testing environmental simulation, player guidance, mobile controls, data-informed iteration and authentic regional storytelling.
CrazyCrab is an original work in active development. Publicly available demonstrations represent early prototypes rather than a finished commercial release, and individual builds may test different visual or control approaches.
